ORM News December 1, 2007, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm GREENbuild house locates at the corner of Seventh & Danneel Streets This event is intended to "de-confuse" the terminology associated with sustainable building practices through direct contact with the GREENbuild house, designed and built by students of the Tulane School of Architecture. Representatives from local non-profit groups and companies specializing in sustainable systems will be present to answer questions and share information about their products, programs and initiatives. In addition, printed materials and green building guides will be available. With expanded awareness of the capacity of green building change can occur on both local and global levels. Please join us for a tour of the houses and local bbq! October 5, 2007, 11 am – 12:30 pm Dr. Edward Blakely will lead a tour of the S. Claiborne Target Area on Friday, Oct. 5. The tour will highlight public and private future developments, visit tenants on South Claiborne , and review potential investment opportunities and incentives. Tour participants will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue regarding the future development of this Target Area. September 23, 2007- Sept 25,2007 City of Phoenix will be in town to start the process/planning for the rebuilding of the Ponchartrain Park Golf Course. There will be an assessment team to review the existing status of the course and this team will meet with the necessary city entities and the neighborhood community associated with the Ponchartrain Park Golf Course. This will be the first of many trips involving the city of Phoenix and their commitment to rebuild this historic facility back to its pre-Katrina condition and perhaps with enhancements in design and sustainability. August 27 – 29, 2007 , 9:00 am – 5 :00 pm Recovery Center at Gallier Hall as part of The City of New Orleans’ Recovery and Rebuilding Anniversary Events. Includes a Resource Center and bus tours of Target Areas. |
